Two young filmmakers from Ramsay IB High School will have their work broadcast on national television due to their success in a documentary competition.
Jacari Dillard and Erial Malone placed second in the High School Central Region category of the 2024 CSPAN StudentCam Documentary Competition. They were the only students from Alabama to place in the competition.
In their submission “The Trillion Dollar Crisis,” the duo addressed student debt, interviewing numerous Ramsay faculty and staff in the process. It will air on CSPAN throughout the day on April 14 starting at 5:50 a.m. CDT.
With a film on inflation, Dillard and Moore placed third in the region in the 2023 edition of the competition.
