Phillips Academy and leaders in Birmingham City Schools celebrated the renovation of the school’s auditorium with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 8. The space now features enhanced lighting, sound, and other amenities to better accommodate school performances and other activities.
Phillips was a high school serving northern Birmingham scholars for many years. In 2007, the school, located at 2316 7th Avenue North, was converted to a K-8 school.
The Phillips Auditorium renovation is part of the ongoing focus on school facilities for BCS scholars. The school district is investing more than $82 million this year in a variety of facility upgrades and new construction.
